Update from Melborne
"Rakhee Bhikha reports from her six month rotation in Melborne"
The Melbourne office had their Christmas Party last week Friday. Their theme was Enchanted Garden with no real dress code. They had the party at a venue called the Aerial in South Wharf (about 20 minutes away from the office but on the Yarra river). It was a beautiful venue and fun evening!
It was the first time they did a cocktail evening. Apparently, they generally do a sit down formal dinner. Seems like they wanted to do something different this year. It was quite fun.
The grads (CA’s) have to prepare a Grad Review, which consists of a video and also a live component. They put a lot of effort into it. They were only 7 of them but managed to pull it off really well! Their theme of the video was the international seat programme and how competitive it is. They had a play on the different TV and movie series like House of Cards and the Devil Wears Prada. They also had different funny scenes of the office here (like the fact that a lot of people wear gym clothes and activewear around the office), mocking partners (how they hang on to CA’s or give silly tasks) and the office admin co-ordinator (our Astrid Sinclair and her making people move here from office to office)! It seemed to go down very well. The office staff feature in the video and are generally quite game.
