Caleb Jones in Australia

"My name is Caleb Jones and I am articled to the Cape Town office of Norton Rose Fulbright. "

My name is Caleb Jones and I am articled to the Cape Town office of Norton Rose Fulbright. I am currently serving my final rotation in the Sydney, Australia office. This is what I am up to:

I have been placed in the insurance department, focusing on pharmaceuticals, medical malpractice and income protection/life insurance. On the pharmaceutical front, the majority of my work has been focused on two leading class actions which are two of the largest running in Australia.

The New Year has also brought with it an opportunity to see one of Australia's longest running and largest income protection claims proceed to court. I have been able to assisted with various aspects of the matter in the lead up to the trial.

Outside of work, I have been able to make the most of the location of my apartment, which is based in the city centre. The beaches surrounding Sydney are endless and weekends generally consist of exploring some new, untouched stretch of beach. I have also ticked-off a number of Sydney's 'must-sees', including the Opera House, Bondi Beach, the Blue Mountains, Sydney Harbour Bridge and area in Sydney central known as the Rocks, to name a few.

I also managed to take a long weekend in early December and headed to New South Wales to an area called Coffs Harbour. Over the December break I managed to sneak in a week's exploring in Melbourne and welcomed in the New Year with an unbelievable fireworks show over Sydney Harbour.
